ABOUT LINCOLNSHIRE UNISON

Nationally, UNISON is Britain’s largest trade union with 1.3 million members.  Most members provide public services, either directly through public sector employers such as Local Authorities and the National Health Service, or through other statutory bodies, the voluntary sector and private companies.

Lincolnshire County UNISON has 7,000 members working for a number of employers, including:-

  • Lincolnshire County Council, which comprises about two-thirds of our membership;
  • Employers who were once part of the Council, such as the Probation Service, support staff in Further Education Colleges, Connexions and Foundation (formerly Grant Maintained) schools;
  • Private companies to whom the Council has privatised services e.g. HBS, Translinc and LCR Ringway;
  • Voluntary and private sector employees, particularly in the field of social care.

The Branch has local representatives in many workplaces around the county and they will often be your first point of contact with the union.  However, if you don’t know who your rep is, or if there isn’t one where you work, you can get in touch with the Branch Office:-
